Store bought antipersperants have you worried about what you're putting on your body? Good! You should be worried! Looking for something a little more natural? Don’t let the fear of funky pits make you a shut-in.  Instead of becoming a perineal couch potato, try our natural deodorant paste.

Tea tree oil is added to a higly effective odor neutralizing base to prevent microbial growth and therefore prevent body odor. And, we think this is very important, IT WORKS! Safely and funk free. I wasn’t satisfied with simply neutralizing the odor which is why I incorporated an Amber fragrance that is best described as a sweet and sultry fusion of mandarin, jasmine, and rich amber with undertones of sandalwood and musk. Yea, that sounds like an awful lot but it's actually very subtle. Trust us. You'll love it!

Natural deodorants work by absorbing some of the moisture of your sweat but it will not prevent you from sweating. Seriously, if you do find a product that prevents your body from sweating, don't use it!!!!

Here at U.S.C. (sounds sporty doesn't it?), we are dedicated to crafting righteous, high quality, natural products that you can feel good about using on your body. This deodorant will make you feel like a rock star without putting your body at risk with unnatural inhibitions.

    • Transitioning to a Natural Deodorant

So you've decided to try natural deodorant. That's wonderful! If you have never used one before, know that it can be a process to make the transition. I say this not to deter you but so you know that it's not the same as switching from Secret to Degree. There are stumbling blocks. Not every person will face the same ones. All our bodies and personal chemistry are different. A perfume that smells great on one person might smell like bug spray on another.

When you transition to all natural products, there can sometimes be a ‘purging’ stage. This is a result of all the toxins and pent-up bacteria releasing out of the skin. So you may have an initial transitional phase, but the results will be worth it!

Having said that, here are some possible side effects that are TEMPORARY while making the change:

You will sweat. This is not a bad thing. Sweating is one of your bodies ways of getting rid of toxins. Let it do its job as efficiently as it can. The good news is, after you have been using a natural deodorant for a while, you will start to sweat less naturally. Keep in mind, that unlike the rest of your body, the sweat from your underarms is not just water and salt. These glands also excrete amino acids. So, if they have not been allowed to do their job for a long period of time, they will go into overdrive once given the chance.

Your lymph nodes may ache for a few days. This is also normal. As your body pushes out the toxins from your now forgotten antiperspirant, there can be a small amount of discomfort. It is not what I would describe as painful, but it is a noticeable discomfort that will go away.

If your underarms feel and look rashy, this is most likely because the baking soda in my deodorant paste is not balancing with your body’s pH. (Baking soda is very alkaline but I have found it to be a very effective ingredient.) This is easily remedied. After you finish your morning shower, towel off, and lightly spritz your underarms with apple cider vinegar. (Don’t worry, you will not smell like vinegar once it dries.) Continue putting on your moisturizers and sunblock while the ACV is drying. Then apply your deodorant as normal. The acid in the ACV will balance out the base in the baking soda and you will be rashy no more. Again, this is only temporary.

Please try to stay committed. Keep your goals in mind. Why are you taking steps to clean your body and the way you live? For your health? For your children? Due to pregnancy or holistic treatment of chronic illness? Whatever the reasons are, realize that they will not change even when you encounter challenges. You can do this!

    • Directions for Application

Our deodorant is a paste in a tube. Think of it like putting on lip balm. A little goes a long way!

Roll up just a hair's breadth of deodorant above the top of the tube. Apply to underarms. If you see white on your skin, you've used too much. Just roll the tube back down and use it to scrape off any excess white you can see. Put the cap back on and put your tube away until tomorrow.

That's it. You are ready to start your day!
